2027 Election: ADC Tells Nigerians to Get PVCs, Vows to Resist Vote Manipulation
It puts the main keywords — 2027, ADC, Nigerians, PVCs and votes — near the beginning while accurately reflecting the report.
The African Democratic Congress Presidential Campaign Council (ADC-PCC) has urged eligible Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and defend their votes in the 2027 general election, warning against efforts to manipulate the process in favour of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The council said Nigerians should reject messages suggesting that election results had already been decided, arguing that such claims could discourage voters from participating in the democratic process.
In a statement issued on Friday, the council’s Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, alleged that APC agents were spreading the narrative of predetermined results to reduce voter turnout.
“Go and collect your PVC. Your voter’s card is your power and your guarantee that you will vote on January 16, 2027,” he stated.
Ologbondiyan accused the ruling APC of attempting to use fears of electoral malpractice to distract Nigerians from the challenges facing the country, including hunger, hardship and insecurity.
“The APC knows it cannot win a free, fair and credible election after plunging Nigerians into hunger, hardship and insecurity. That is why it wants Nigerians to believe that results will be written. It is a lie. The era of writing results in hotel rooms is gone forever,” he said.
He expressed confidence that measures such as the amended Electoral Act, BVAS and the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) Result Viewing Portal (IReV), alongside increased political awareness, would strengthen electoral transparency and help guard against fraud.
“Every polling unit will be protected. Every vote will be counted, and every vote will count. Nigerians are more determined than ever to take back their country through the ballot,” Ologbondiyan added.
The campaign council called on traditional institutions, religious organisations, youth groups, women’s associations and civil society organisations to mobilise voters, encourage PVC collection and discourage voter apathy.
It also assured Nigerians that the ADC, led by its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, would station polling agents at every polling unit nationwide to observe the electoral process, safeguard ballots and challenge any attempt to subvert the people’s mandate.
