The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced five airlines that have been cleared to provide airlift services for Nigerian pilgrims during the 2027 Hajj.

The commission made the announcement in a circular issued in Abuja on Thursday, listing Air Peace Limited, Flynas, Max Air Limited, Saudi Air and UMZA Aviation Services Limited as the approved carriers.

NAHCON said the airlines emerged from a screening and evaluation exercise conducted by its Aviation Screening Committee. The assessment, according to the commission, considered safety regulations, operational capacity and financial guidelines.

“The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) wishes to inform the general public, State Muslim Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards, Agencies, Commissions, particularly intending pilgrims, that the government has approved the engagement of five air carriers for the 2027 Hajj exercise,” the circular said.

The commission noted that the approval is conditional on the execution of airlift agreements with NAHCON as well as compliance with the requirements of the Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) and Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).

The approved carriers are Air Peace Limited, Flynas, Max Air Limited, Saudi Air and UMZA Aviation Services Limited.

NAHCON said details concerning passenger allocations and flight schedules would be developed in collaboration with State Pilgrims’ Welfare Boards and the selected operators.

It further directed the airlines to adhere to all regulations for the 2027 Hajj, including the requirement that pilgrims’ tickets be linked to their Nusuk-Masar data.

The commission also reminded operators of baggage rules, which provide for a single 32kg bag and one 8kg piece of hand luggage, alongside other requirements established by the relevant authorities.

NAHCON called on stakeholders to cooperate with the approved airlines, stressing the need for a seamless, safe and comfortable airlift operation for all Nigerian pilgrims.
