An Open Letter To His Excellency Uba Sani, The Executive Governor Of Kaduna State -By Dokpesi Timothy Adidi

The last time we got such a degree of peaceful co-existence was during the days of the former Governor Ahmed Makarfi when we all saw an integral formation of political structures to reduce ethno-religious conflicts. Your Excellency, you indeed inherited an almost unsecured and failed State. The people of Kaduna State no longer fear demolition as it used to be. Although, your predecessor did well in structuring KADGIS the documentation process has now become transparent against the advantage of land grabbers in Kaduna State. I also believe you can as well put more effort into enhancing and leveraging what your predecessor has done.

Full compliance to NLC warning strike in Kaduna

I do not need much introduction about myself as I write to you on this beautiful day of 8th February 2025. I shall do my best to ensure this open letter is concise and straight to the point. This will be my second open letter to you since your inception in office, and I wish to thank God for this opportunity to write you this letter. I pray and hope you are in good health and sound mind despite the challenges and stress of work as the Executive Governor of Kaduna State. Leadership is not a luxury business for those who understand the dynamics and principles of good and authentic leadership. It is on this note I want to commend you for your leadership style and benevolence. Let me congratulate you as one of the best Governor of the year 2024 you received during THISDAY 30th commemoration awards held in Lagos. It is an award well deserving of you as the incumbent of Kaduna State.

His Excellency, it is as a result of the relative peace we have in Kaduna State as of today you have not frequently seen my letters as compared to the previous administration. In the previous administration, I have constantly engaged your predecessor due to the enormous and diverse problems that bedeviled Kaduna State. It is not because your predecessor was not as proactive as he should have been; but because the commitment and engagement in the degree of proactiveness is not compared to your sincere commitment to see Kaduna State a home for everyone. The people living in Kaduna State to a very large extent have gone back to their farm lands. Most people in Kaduna State now sleep with their eyes open under your very watch. Your administration is devoid of terror and intimidation. You have constantly engaged citizens and ensured a peaceful co-existence in Kaduna State in an atmosphere of eco-psychological hangover of the previous administration. You are a ray of hope to the Northern part of Nigeria. You have restored the dignity of the people of Kaduna State to greater heights in less than two years. This indeed is transformational leadership. This is one area amongst many your predecessor did exceptionally well to have used the platform of the political party to bring you into office despite the fears of the majority of the people of Kaduna State who doubted your competence due to the process of how you emerged as Governor.

I appeal to His Excellency to fan into flame this model of leadership and put more effort towards ensuring that every human life matters in Kaduna State. Your leadership style does not make so much noise. You talk less and act more and not always on the front pages of the Nigerian Dailies Newspaper. You seem to be more in Kaduna State than Abuja ensuring that your interest is first and foremost to the people of Kaduna State. You are not over-ambitious as a Governor, but your ambition lies in the restoration of peace in Kaduna State. You have awakened the hope and aspirations of the people of Kaduna State. The people of Southern Kaduna are currently singing your praises everywhere and are hoping for a better future under your watch.

As promised Your Excellency I do not intend to write much but just commend you for your efforts so far. It is not a victory yet until it is victorious. This can only be seen at the level of your sustainability for economic and infrastructural developmental strides.

I hope and pray you live long for the growth and development of the people of Kaduna State.
