Today, we mark two years since His Excellency, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, took the oath of office as Governor of Benue State. These two years have been defined by a rare blend of courage, vision, and integrity. Governor Alia has brought governance back to the people—anchored on justice, reform, and responsible stewardship. He is fixing Benue State to work for all, not only for a few.

Through his practical implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Governor Alia has demonstrated that partnership between federal vision and state-level action can truly deliver transformation: a harmonious rather than adversarial engagement with the Federal Government by subnational governments is often the best model that delivers for the people, and the Alia Administration has proved this. From agricultural revitalization and prompt civil service reform to infrastructure rehabilitation and education revival, Alia’s administration has become a model of public accountability and focus.

The Tinubu–Alia alignment is more than a political arrangement; it is a development pact, a mutual activation of the development machine that drives multi-sectoral growth. Federal support under this partnership has already enabled critical progress in roads, healthcare, and security, restoring the confidence of citizens in government.

As Benue State continues on this upward trajectory, it is clear that sustaining this leadership synergy beyond 2027 would be in the best interest of Benue, the Middle Belt, and Nigeria at large. Continuity will secure today’s gains and multiply tomorrow’s possibilities. The majority of Benue residents relate to and acknowledge the positive tokens of socio-economic development in Benue State under Alia’s steady, focused, brave, and visionary leadership. No one must tell the blind that the sun has danced up to the navel of the sky; they FEEL its rays and heat.

Congratulations, Your Excellency, on this milestone. Your steady leadership continues to offer hope—not only to Benue people but to all Nigerians seeking a better country, an inspiring example.
