NAIROBI — Five US citizens have died in a helicopter crash in central Kenya, where they were reportedly sightseeing, the US State Department said on Wednesday.
According to a State Department spokesperson, the five Americans were killed when the helicopter crashed during their sightseeing trip.
The spokesperson said the US Embassy in Kenya had reached out to local authorities following the crash and offered condolences to the victims’ families and loved ones.
“The US Embassy in Kenya is in contact with local authorities,” the spokesperson said in an email received by AFP.
The State Department did not immediately provide further details about the circumstances of the crash or the identities of those killed.
