Fayose Named REA Board Chairman as Tinubu Makes 26 Federal Appointments
President Bola Tinubu has appointed former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency Board and announced 25 other appointments across 10 federal agencies and commissions.
President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of former Ekiti State Governor Ayo Fayose as Chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA) Board, alongside 25 other appointments into key federal agencies and commissions.
The appointments were disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, who said they take effect immediately.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced 26 new appointments to 10 federal government agencies and commissions, with the former governor of Ekiti State, Ayo Fayose, emerging as chairman of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), and Major General Junaid Bindawa as chairman of the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission.”
According to the statement, Fayose will chair the REA board with Alhaji Ahmadu Abubakar and Engineer Ilyasu Ibrahim Makinta serving as members and non-executive directors, while Abba Abubakar Aliyu, the agency’s Director-General, and three executive directors complete the board.
The President also reconstituted the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission, appointing Major General Junaid Bindawa as chairman and Olajumoke Okoya-Thomas as secretary, alongside several commissioners and board members representing different states.
Among other appointments, Tosin Johnson Adeyanju was redeployed as Secretary of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission, while Dr. Abuh Mohammed was named Director-General of the National Population Commission.
President Tinubu also appointed Dr. Akinola Odeyemi as Managing Director of NBET, Dr. Anthony Inalegwu Godwin as Chairman/CEO of the Nigeria Atomic Energy Commission, and Engineer Julius Oloro as Chief Executive Officer of the National Centre for Agricultural Mechanisation.
The President further constituted the board of the Fiscal Responsibility Commission, with Dr. Abdullahi Maikano Saidu as chairman, and appointed Shuni Muhammad Dahiru as Executive Secretary of the National Commission for Mass Literacy, Adult and Non-Formal Education.
Also announced was the appointment of Gisaor Vincent Iorja, an economist and legal scholar, as Executive Director (Finance) of the Federal Housing Authority, replacing Mathias Byuan, who stepped down to contest the Benue State governorship election.
