Former NFL star O.J. Simpson is dead

Simpson won the NFL MVP award in 1973 and was selected to the Pro Bowl five times during his NFL career, among many other honours. In 1973, he became the first player to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single season.

Following a fight with cancer, former NFL player O.J. Simpson passed yesterday at the age of 76, according to his family.

A statement posted on his social media accounts reads: “On April 10th, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, succumbed to his battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren. During this time of transition, his family asks that you please respect their wishes for privacy and grace.”

It was stated that he was fighting prostate cancer.

OJ Simpson spent ten years with the Buffalo Bills and San Francisco 49ers, where he established himself as one of the greatest running backs in NFL history.

After playing football, Simpson made the switch to acting and appeared in a number of TV shows and films on both large and small screens.

The career timeline of O.J. Simpson

College Career: From 1967 to 1968, O.J. Simpson was a football player for the USC Trojans. In 1968, he was given the Heisman Trophy, which goes to the nation’s top college football player.

Professional Career: In the 1969 NFL Draft, OJ Simpson was selected first overall by the Buffalo Bills. He played for the San Francisco 49ers in 1978 and 1979 after playing with the Buffalo Bills from 1969 to 1977.

Achievements: Simpson won the NFL MVP award in 1973 and was selected to the Pro Bowl five times during his NFL career, among many other honours. In 1973, he became the first player to rush for more than 2,000 yards in a single season.

Legacy: Despite having a great football career, Simpson’s legacy has been tarnished by scandals, such as the well reported criminal trial in 1995 in which he was found not guilty of killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her friend Ronald Goldman.
