Renewed violence in Plateau State has left at least six people dead and eight others injured after gunmen carried out coordinated attacks in Barkin Ladi and Riyom local government areas.

According to sources, four people were killed and five injured when attackers invaded Hurum Gashish community in Barkin Ladi around 10 p.m. on Sunday, opening fire on residents.

Barely an hour later, a similar attack occurred in Shonong Bachi community of Riyom Local Government Area, where two persons were confirmed dead and three others injured as gunmen reportedly shot indiscriminately.

The incidents caused widespread panic, with many residents fleeing their homes to escape the violence.

The National Publicity Secretary of the Berom Youth Moulders Association, Rwang Tenglong, confirmed the attacks, noting that the affected communities are now in mourning.
