President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Lagos to mark the Easter period and participate in a series of project inaugurations following a condolence visit to Plateau State.

The President had earlier been in Jos, where he sympathised with families of victims of the recent attack in Angwan Rukuba.

He arrived at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport at about 7:20 p.m. on Thursday and was welcomed by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, along with government officials and dignitaries.

While in Plateau, Tinubu met with stakeholders including traditional leaders and former governors, and assessed the security situation in the affected areas.

He instructed security agencies to track down the perpetrators of the attack, declaring: “The perpetrators must be brought to justice,” and assuring residents of continued government support to restore peace.

The visit was aimed at reinforcing security measures and offering reassurance to communities impacted by the violence.

In Lagos, the President is scheduled to commission several completed projects delivered by the state government.

Ahead of the events, Sanwo-Olu said: “These projects reflect our commitment to development and improved living standards.”

Projects lined up for inauguration include the Ojota/Opebi Link Bridge, the Lagos State Geographic Information System Building, a Multi-Agency Complex named in honour of the President, and a new school facility.

Presidential aide Bayo Onanuga disclosed that Tinubu will also travel to Ogun State on Saturday for the inauguration of the Gateway International Cargo Airport.

Additionally, he will commission two commercial aircraft aimed at enhancing export and import activities, which Onanuga said are intended to “strengthen trade and logistics nationwide.”

Other engagements include the unveiling of the Nigeria Customs Service Federal Operations Unit headquarters and a fleet of operational vehicles to improve service delivery.

Following his Lagos engagements, Tinubu will continue his Easter holiday before heading to Bayelsa on April 10 to inaugurate projects completed by Governor Douye Diri’s administration.

He is expected to return to Abuja after concluding his official visits.
