Troops Kill 10 Terrorists in Plateau as Army Intensifies Wutan Daji Operations
At least 10 terrorists have been neutralised in Plateau State as troops intensify operations in Wase and Kanam LGAs.
Troops of the Nigerian Army operating under Operation Wutan Daji have neutralised at least 10 terrorists in Plateau State during operations conducted on Thursday.
An operational update made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) said the offensives took place in Wase and Kanam Local Government Areas, focusing on terrorist hideouts around Daba and Seri villages.
According to the report, troops mounted blocking positions between Dutsen Zaki and Odare Forest, where they intercepted terrorists travelling on motorcycles.
A gun battle ensued, leading to the killing of several terrorists, while others escaped with injuries.
Subsequent clearance operations in the area resulted in the recovery of 10 bodies along with weapons and logistics supplies.
“Recovered items include two motorcycles, 25-litre jerrycans of Premium Motor Spirit, one AK-47 rifle and a magazine loaded with 7.62mm special ammunition.”
The army said troops remain on the offensive and are sustaining pressure in the region.
“The operation is ongoing, with troops maintaining high fighting spirit and sustained offensive posture in the area.
The Nigerian army reaffirms commitment to sustaining pressure on terrorists and restoring peace in affected communities.”
