Troops under Sector II of Operation FANSAN YAMMA have apprehended a suspected logistics supplier to terrorist groups in Zamfara State, recovering 150 pairs of combat boots and several other tactical items.

According to an operational report obtained by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the suspect was arrested on Wednesday during a routine stop-and-search operation along the Sokoto–Gusau highway.

The report said soldiers intercepted the suspect while he was travelling in a Honda Civic, where they uncovered military-style items hidden inside the vehicle.

“Items recovered from the suspect included 150 pairs of combat boots, three jackknives, three electric shockers, a tear gas canister, a military beret and a belt.

“Troops also recovered two Android mobile phones, an iPad and a digital wristwatch believed to be of intelligence value,” the report stated.

The army said the arrest marks a major success in efforts to dismantle supply and logistics networks supporting terrorist and bandit activities in the North-West.

It stressed that disrupting the flow of equipment and materials to criminal elements remains key to limiting their operational effectiveness.

The suspect is in custody and undergoing interrogation, while the recovered items have been secured for further investigation.

The army further noted that the interception reflects the impact of intensified stop-and-search operations under Operation FANSAN YAMMA aimed at restricting terrorist mobility and access to resources.

It reaffirmed its resolve to sustain pressure on armed groups and their collaborators to restore peace in Zamfara State and across the North-West region.
