Their actions increasingly reflect an agenda to turn Nigeria into a de facto one-party state. Alleged corruption is overlooked if the accused aligns with the ruling party, as seen in the unresolved EFCC saga involving former Governor Yahaya Bello, who now walks unbothered under the protection of partisan bias.
There’s an adage that speaks profoundly about the power of self-awareness: “Know thyself beyond the comprehension of others.” This resonates deeply when we reflect on sincerity of purpose in both leadership and citizenship.
Nigeria: Yesterday, today and tomorrow, remains fundamentally the same. What changes the course of its destiny are not just the structures, but the intentions, decisions, and policies of those who lead. And, equally important, the active roles of the governed.
Since the coalition that brought the All Progressives Congress (APC) to power in 2015, spearheaded by then General Muhammadu Buhari, Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and leaders like Rochas Okorocha, the nation has drifted from one hardship to another. The promises that fueled that political revolution have largely gone unfulfilled. For the ordinary Nigerian, life has only gotten harder.

But respectfully, Sir, many of us in the trenches of democracy are growing increasingly concerned. You are yet to convincingly show that you fully grasp the task before you.
You possess the political network, resources, and experience to unite Nigeria’s fractured opposition. But unity will not come through personal ambition or recycled strategies. It will take humility, genuine coalition-building, and bold, inclusive leadership. Drops of water may seem insignificant alone, but together, they carve rivers and move mountains.
Prove to us and your potential electorate, that your intentions transcend personal aspirations. Show us that you can organize a coalition rooted not in self-interest, but in national interest, free from tribalism, religious sentiment, and corruption.
The future of this nation cannot be left to chance, nor can it be entrusted to a ruling party that shows no remorse for the damage done. We need a structured alternative. We need visionaries, not opportunists.
This is not a letter of condemnation, but a call to action. A genuine outreach to the former Vice President of Nigeria and the leader of the opposition to rise above the noise and lead with courage, clarity, and purpose.
Let this be a turning point. Nigeria deserves it. The people demand it. History will remember it.
