Naira Holds Steady Against Dollar as Official Rate Stays Around ₦1,362

Check the dollar to naira exchange rate for August 10, 2026, including the official NFEM rate of ₦1,362.55 and black-market rate of ₦1,425.

The naira maintained a relatively stable position against the United States dollar on Monday, August 10, 2026, with the official exchange rate hovering around ₦1,362.55 per dollar.

In the parallel market, commonly referred to as the black market, the dollar was quoted at approximately ₦1,425 for selling and ₦1,410 for buying in Lagos and other major trading centres.

This places the spread between the official NFEM rate and the parallel-market selling rate at about ₦62.45 per dollar.

The stability comes amid continued monitoring of foreign-exchange liquidity and interventions by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Market reports indicate that the naira has recently traded close to ₦1,360 per dollar in the official market, while street-market transactions have remained around ₦1,425. Reuters reported that dealers were expecting relatively stable conditions for the naira in the near term.

The official market has also remained within a relatively tight range of around ₦1,362 to ₦1,364 in recent sessions.

However, the rate available to individuals and businesses may differ from the published benchmark. Banks, bureau de change operators and other authorised dealers may quote different rates depending on the transaction, location, volume and payment method.

The NFEM rate represents transactions carried out through the formal foreign-exchange market, while parallel-market figures reflect rates outside the official trading window.

A separate market-rate source recorded the dollar at about ₦1,361.99 against the naira on August 10, 2026, showing that the currency remained close to the ₦1,362 level.
