2027: Tinubu’s Re-Election Will Be Easier Than 2023 – Wike
Nyesom Wike says he thinks about Tinubu’s re-election every day and predicts the president will find the 2027 election easier than 2023.
PORT HARCOURT — FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for a second term in 2027 will be easier than his 2023 presidential campaign.
Wike made the declaration on Monday while addressing residents during town hall meetings with the Rumueme and Apara kingdoms in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The former Rivers governor said he was fully committed to securing Tinubu’s re-election, revealing that the president’s 2027 bid was constantly on his mind.
“Each day I sleep, I am thinking about the president’s re-election. When I am eating, I think about the president’s re-election. Everything I am doing now is about the president’s re-election,” Wike said.
He called on Rivers residents to support Tinubu in the 2027 election, urging them to disregard sentiments and consider what he described as the benefits the state had received under the current administration.
According to Wike, Tinubu had demonstrated recognition of Rivers State through development projects and the appointment of several Rivers indigenes to important positions in his administration.
“Let us forget sentiment and vote for the person who has recognised the people of Rivers State with dividends of democracy and with several appointments,” he said.
Wike expressed optimism that Tinubu would secure a stronger victory in 2027 than he did in 2023.
“I know the re-election of Tinubu in 2027 will be easier than that of 2023. We should appreciate Tinubu and ensure he gets a massive number of votes. We can do it.”
The FCT minister further said the Tinubu administration had brought several development projects to Rivers State and elevated indigenes of the state through appointments to strategic government positions.
He consequently urged Rivers voters to reciprocate the president’s support for the state with massive votes in the 2027 presidential election.
