APC Primary: Yahaya Bello Sweeps Kogi Central, Wins Across All LGAs with Huge Margin

Yahaya Bello records landslide victory in APC Kogi Central senatorial primary, defeating rivals across all LGAs with over 72,000 votes.

Former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello, has emerged winner of the APC senatorial primary for Kogi Central District after recording a sweeping victory across all five local government areas.

According to official results, Bello won convincingly in Adavi, Ajaokuta, Ogori, Okehi, and Okene LGAs, amassing a total of 72,399 votes.

The breakdown shows: Adavi – 18,341; Ajaokuta – 10,298; Ogori – 5,146; Okehi – 8,943; Okene – 29,621.

His opponents recorded significantly lower figures. Ibrahim Yakubu Adoke polled 319 votes in total, while Momoh Yusuf Obaro scored 188 votes.

Adoke’s results were: Adavi – 67; Ajaokuta – 147; Ogori – 63; Okehi – 25; Okene – 13.
Obaro’s scores were: Adavi – 14; Ajaokuta – 76; Ogori – 65; Okehi – 25; Okene – 8.

Bello is likely to face Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in the general election, as she is expected to secure the PDP ticket unopposed in the upcoming primary.
