Following the March 27 attack in Angwan Rukuba, Jos, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan (PDP, Kogi Central) has called on Defence Minister General Christopher Musa to respond with immediate and decisive action after more than 30 people—largely Christian worshippers—were killed.

Reacting via her official social media accounts, the senator condemned the incident as “another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected,” and voiced disappointment over the gap between earlier promises and current security realities.

“Dear General Christopher Musa, Angwan Rukuba is another brutal reminder that Nigerians remain unprotected. During your screening at the Senate chambers, your words were filled with promises, and I allowed myself a sigh of relief,” she stated.

She further challenged the minister, saying: “Well, prove now you are different and secure lives, or step aside. Enough of condolences. Enough of excuses. Nigerians want action, protection, and results!”

Her reaction reflects increasing dissatisfaction among citizens over recurring violence in vulnerable areas and strengthens calls for a comprehensive overhaul of the nation’s security architecture.

As mourning continues in Angwan Rukuba and nearby communities, residents are demanding justice for those killed and stronger safeguards against future attacks.

The incident reinforces ongoing concerns about the state’s ability to effectively protect lives and property in regions affected by insecurity.
