Como boosted their chances of qualifying for the Champions League with a convincing 2-0 win away to Genoa on Sunday, tightening the race for a top-four finish in Serie A.

Tasos Douvikas and Assane Diao both found the net to seal victory at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris, as Como climbed back into fifth place, now just two points adrift of Juventus.

Attention now turns to Juventus’ clash with AC Milan at the San Siro, a key encounter that could shape the battle for Champions League qualification.

Roma remain level on 61 points with Como in sixth place, ensuring the pressure remains intense in the race for Europe.

After a dip in form that saw them collect only one point from their previous three matches, Cesc Fabregas’ team responded strongly to revive their ambitions.

Despite never having played in European competition, Como continue to push for a historic breakthrough, even after suffering a midweek Italian Cup defeat to Inter Milan.

Elsewhere, Inter have the opportunity to move closer to the Serie A title with a win against Torino later in the day.
