Iran Claims Military Facility Near Bushehr Hit as US Denies Conducting Strikes
Iranian state media reported that a military facility near Bushehr was hit by a projectile and blamed the US and Israel, but a US defence official said American forces were not conducting strikes in Iran.
Iran has alleged that a projectile struck a military headquarters near the southern city of Bushehr on Thursday, blaming what it described as the “American-Zionist enemy” for the attack.
State news agency IRNA quoted Bushehr Deputy Governor Ehsan Jahanian as saying the military installation on the city’s outskirts was hit shortly after renewed hostilities between Iran and the United States.
“Moments ago, a military headquarters on the outskirts of Bushehr was attacked and hit by a projectile of the American-Zionist enemy,” he said.
Despite the allegation, a US defence official said the American military was not conducting any strikes inside Iran at the time.
