17 bodies recovered in India

Across the border in India, authorities in Uttar Pradesh said 17 bodies had been recovered from rivers flowing from Nepal.

The victims are believed to have been caught up in the floods, but authorities are yet to identify them.

The recovered bodies have not been added to the official death toll as Indian authorities continue efforts to determine their identities and confirm whether they were victims of the Nepal floods.

With thousands still missing, rescue teams in Nepal and China continue search operations as authorities work to locate survivors and recover those who died in the disaster.
