FBI Places N6.7m Bounty on Nigerian Woman Wanted Over $5,000 Romance Scam Case
Nigerian woman Emuobosan Emanuella Hall is wanted by the FBI after failing to report to serve an eight-year sentence for money laundering and fraud-related offences.
The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is offering a reward of up to $5,000, approximately N6.7 million, for information that could lead to the arrest of a Nigerian woman, Emuobosan Emanuella Hall, who allegedly failed to surrender to prison authorities to serve an eight-year jail term for money laundering and fraud.
Hall was convicted of conspiracy to commit money laundering and conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud following a romance scam involving multiple victims.
Born in Nigeria on October 10, 1980, she was initially charged in April 2024 over her alleged role in laundering funds obtained from victims through the fraudulent operation, according to the FBI.
She was arrested in Georgia and later released on bond before eventually pleading guilty to the offences.
In January 2026, a US federal court sentenced her to 96 months in prison. However, Hall reportedly failed to report to the designated correctional facility in March 2026 to begin serving her sentence.
Her failure to appear prompted US authorities to issue a federal arrest warrant on March 31, 2026. The warrant was issued by the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana in New Orleans following a bond violation charge.
The FBI further disclosed that Hall was formally charged through a criminal complaint on April 14, 2026, for failing to appear to serve her sentence. She was subsequently indicted on the same charge on October 23, 2026.
The wanted Nigerian woman is also reportedly known by the names Emuobosan E. Hall, Emuobosan Emanuella Erih and the nickname “Mobo”.
Her reported connections include Warri and Oleh in Delta State, Abuja, London, Gloucester and Croydon in England, as well as Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States.
The FBI described Hall as 5 feet 6 inches tall and approximately 87 kilogrammes in weight. She has black hair, brown eyes and speaks English and some Yoruba.
To facilitate her arrest, the agency has announced a reward of up to $5,000, estimated at N6.73 million using the exchange rate of approximately N1,346.22 to the dollar as of October 30, 2026.
The FBI has called on members of the public with useful information about her location to contact the nearest FBI office or the American Embassy or Consulate.
