YPP, Bamaiyi and the Quest for Quality Representation -By Brown Justice

Therefore, the time has come for the good people of Demsa, Numan and Lamurde Federal Constituency of Adamawa State to give their unalloyed supports to Hon. Barr. Vidiyeno Bamaiyi to represent them at the National Assembly in the upcoming election seasons.

In a work titled, ‘The Republic ‘ Plato asserted that: “Until philosophers are kings or the kings and princes of this world have the spirit and power of philosophy, cities will never have rest from evils.’

He argued that ‘if philosophers are to rule in the state; then we shall be able to defend ourselves .. Then will it be discovered that there are those who ought to study philosophy to be leaders and others who are not born to be philosophers who are meant to be followers rather than leaders.’

Undoubtedly, the above assertion by Plato best captured the precarious political situation we found ourselves in Nigeria; a country endowed with many talented individuals and mineral resources but lack the political will, direction and commitment to better the lives of the people.

As a result, every four years, we see politicians making various promises in their vision statements and party manifesto but in the end, they end up lacking the political will and commitment to translate their visions in to realities for the common good of the people.

Often times, we blame political parties for these shortcomings without realizing that political parties are just means to the end and not the end themselves because vehicles can only move in the direction dictated by the driver.

Therefore, now is the time for us to look beyond political parties in our quest for patriotic Nigerians who will provide us with good governance and improve our living standards with good legislations.

It doesn’t matter the political party such individuals belongs to or identify themselves with but what matters is their vision, integrity and proven commitment to solving the national puzzle.

Out of the pool of many Nigerians, one man who has demonstrated uncommon capacity to translate his vision into action is the former Deputy Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly as well as the Young Progressives Party (YPP) House of Representatives Candidate for Demsa, Numan and Lamurde Federal Constituency of Adamawa State, Hon. Barr. Vidiyeno Bamaiyi.

Hon. Bamaiyi is a household name in the political, legal and social service sectors.

He is not just passionate about good governance and seeing Nigeria becoming a great country, but has also walked the talk over the years.

During his reign as Deputy Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly, he ensured that many far-reaching bills with direct positive impacts on the people were passed into law without subjecting them to unnecessary legislative filibustering or bureaucracy.

Some of these bills today are in public use and are achieving what they were originally designed to achieve.

Since every politics is first local, Hon. Bamaiyi will not only promote and protect the interest of his constituency in the National Assembly, but will use legislative oversights to bring urgent interventions to the plights of his constituents.

Therefore, the time has come for the good people of Demsa, Numan and Lamurde Federal Constituency of Adamawa State to give their unalloyed supports to Hon. Barr. Vidiyeno Bamaiyi to represent them at the National Assembly in the upcoming election seasons.

They should look beyond partisan interest and make this political investment which they stand to reap huge returns in years to come.
