Tinubu receives remains of Buhari

In the tapestry of Nigeria’s democratic journey, few figures shine as brightly and leave as lasting an imprint as the late President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a leader whose life was marked by unwavering patriotism, deep humility, and a relentless commitment to building a better nation for all. As the country pauses to reflect on his legacy, we are reminded not only of his service but of the enduring loyalty he inspired in those who walked closely with him.

He was a man of immense political stature, yet approachable. He bore the burdens of leadership with calm dignity, never swaying from his principles even in the face of adversity. In times of national challenge, he stood tall not as a man without flaws, but as a servant-leader whose heart beat with love for Nigeria.

In the wake of his passing, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) has shown the nation and the world what it means to truly honor the memory of a predecessor.

His policies may have been debated, as all policies are in a thriving democracy, but his intentions were never in doubt. He placed Nigeria above personal interest, and his legacy continues to echo in the corridors of governance, the hearts of the citizens, and the chapters of history.

In the wake of his passing, the grief was deep and widespread cutting across tribes, faiths, and political affiliations.

By recognizing and elevating the Federal Memorial Burial as a place of national significance, PBAT has given the late President’s legacy the recognition it rightly deserves. This act was not just an administrative gesture—it was a moral and symbolic reaffirmation that Nigeria will not forget those who gave their all.

President Tinubu’s tribute stands not only as a national duty fulfilled but as a deeply personal act one that reminds us that great leaders do not fear being overshadowed by those who came before them; they instead build upon their legacies with grace.

But even more inspiring is the loyalty and unwavering respect that continue to be shown by the late President’s former aides and associates. Men like Prof. Yemi Osibanjo, Malam Garba Shehu, Femi Adesina, and Ambassador Lawal Kazaure figures who stood with him through thick and thin have demonstrated what true loyalty looks like in a political landscape often marred by opportunism and betrayal.

These men did not simply work under the late President; they believed in him. They served not for position or privilege, but out of conviction. Long after the cameras dimmed and the title was no longer prefixed to his name, they continued to speak with pride of their time by his side.

They defended his integrity, preserved his ideals, and ensured that his voice still echoed in public discourse. Their loyalty did not end with his tenure it matured into legacy-keeping.

From the corridors of governance to international engagements, his ideals continue to live on through them.

This, in itself, is one of the greatest tributes any leader can hope for: to be remembered not just in statues or ceremonies, but in the genuine loyalty and continued service of those who once stood behind him.

And so, we thank President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for recognizing that greatness must be honored, not erased. We pray that just as he has honored the past, he too will be remembered with kindness, gratitude, and reverence both while he leads and when his own chapter is one day written in the book of Nigerian history.

In a time when loyalty is rare and legacies are often dismissed, may Nigeria learn from this moment.

May we build a culture that celebrates our heroes, acknowledges their humanity, and draws strength from their sacrifices.

To the late President: Your light still shines.
To your loyal aides: Your loyalty is a lesson in patriotism.

To President Tinubu: Thank you, and may grace and honor follow you.

To Nigeria: May our unity and remembrance make us stronger.

Rest in peace.

O statesman of the people. Your nation remembers you.
