Breaking: Nursing Mothers, Children Among Eight Feared Trapped In Kwara Building Collapse
A two-storey building collapsed in Ilorin early Tuesday, leaving eight people feared trapped as rescue operations continue at the scene.
At least eight persons are feared trapped following the collapse of a two-storey building in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Tuesday, according to findings by Opinion Nigeria.
The building reportedly came down around 5:30 a.m. at PopoGiwa, Madalasi Zhogoro area, off Sijikobi Road, in Ilorin West Local Government Area.
Vanguard reliably gathered that some of those believed to be trapped in the building are nursing mothers and children.
Rescue operations are currently underway at the scene, with officers of the state fire service, personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), and residents working to locate and rescue those trapped.
Officials of the State Emergency Management Agency were also present at the site as efforts to rescue the victims continued.
