Terrorists Torch Two Schools as Boko Haram/ISWAP Launch Fresh Attack on Chibok Village
Residents of Kautikari village in Chibok fled into the bush after suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP terrorists invaded the community and burned two schools.
Suspected Boko Haram/ISWAP fighters have reportedly attacked Kautikari village in Borno State’s Chibok Local Government Area, setting two schools ablaze during the assault on Saturday.
The community has been the target of repeated Boko Haram attacks in recent years.
Residents said the attack started at about 7 p.m., forcing many people to abandon their homes and seek refuge in the surrounding bush.
Confirming the incident, a security personnel from Kautikari who resides in Maiduguri said casualty figures were still unclear.
“Yes, I can confirm to you that our village (Kautikari) in the Chibok Local Government Area is under Boko Haram attack.
“Our people are scampering for safety, even as two schools (primary and day secondary school) are on fire,” he said.
Efforts to reach the Borno State Police Command spokesperson, ASP Keneth Daso, for official confirmation were unsuccessful before publication.
