A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has fixed April 29, 2026, for the arraignment of Tracynither Ohiri over allegations of cyberstalking the Minister of Works, David Umahi.

Justice James Omotosho postponed proceedings after prosecution counsel Wisdom Madaki requested a short adjournment to enable proper service of court processes on the defendant, who was absent from court.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the judge had earlier warned on April 16 that the case could be struck out if the prosecution failed to produce Ohiri for arraignment.

The Nigeria Police filed a 13-count charge marked FHC/ABJ/CR/172/2026, alleging cyberstalking and defamation, with accusations spanning social media posts made between 2023 and 2025.

Among the allegations, Ohiri was said to have used TikTok to falsely claim that Umahi threatened her life if she entered Ebonyi State and later accused him of sexual harassment, financial wrongdoing, and abuse of office.

The prosecution also claimed she circulated statements alleging that the minister owed her over N200 million and that her refusal of alleged advances led to retaliation against her business interests.

Other counts accuse her of spreading defamatory content across TikTok, Facebook, and Sahara Reporters, allegedly with intent to harm Umahi’s reputation and incite public resentment.

When the case was called on Friday, neither the defendant nor her counsel was present. Madaki informed the court that all attempts to serve her had been unsuccessful, despite a police team travelling to Lagos on April 20.

“They could not see the defendant. They said her door was locked. They even spent three days in Lagos,” he told the court.

Justice Omotosho questioned the prosecution’s diligence, insisting that the case could not proceed without proper effort to serve the defendant.

The matter was subsequently adjourned until April 29 for arraignment.
