Donald Trump has claimed that the war involving the United States and Israel against Iran is largely over.

Speaking in an interview with CBS News on Monday, Trump said the conflict had almost been concluded, though he did not outline any formal settlement to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.

“I think the war is very complete, pretty much. They have no navy, no communications, they’ve got no air force,” Trump said in the phone interview.

The former US president repeated similar battle damage assessments he has shared in recent days regarding Iran’s military capabilities.

Trump further said the United States was progressing “very far” ahead of the war timeline he initially predicted.

He had earlier suggested the conflict could last between four and five weeks, but indicated that developments on the ground were moving faster than expected.
