The Nigerian Army has rescued three kidnapped persons, aged 15 to 46, during a security operation in Makuku and Dankolo villages in Kebbi State.
Troops of Sector 2, Operation Fansan Yamma, have rescued three people held by kidnappers during an operation in Sakaba Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
The victims were identified as Aisha Aminu, 46, Sumayya Aminu, 27, and Nana Abbas, 15.
The rescue took place on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Two of the victims were recovered at Makuku Village, while the third was rescued at Dankolo Village.
The Nigerian Army disclosed the development in a statement issued on Sunday by the spokesman for the 8 Division, Lt. Col. Olaniyi Osoba, and made available to our correspondent.
The statement said the operation was carried out successfully without any incident.
Following their rescue, the victims were handed over to local authorities through the Chairman of Sakaba Local Government Area.
“The victims were subsequently handed over to the District Head of Dirindaji, Alhaji Usman Muhammad, through the Chairman of Sakaba Local Government Area,” the statement said.
Reiterating the military’s commitment to security in the state, Osoba said troops remained determined to protect residents and their communities.
“The operation was concluded successfully without any incident,” the statement added.
The military also emphasised its commitment to safeguarding the public, stating that “Troops remain committed to the protection of lives and property.”
The operation comes as parts of Nigeria’s North-West continue to face security challenges, including kidnappings and other criminal activities that threaten residents and disrupt daily life.
