No Defections From Our Camp, Tuggar Campaign Tells Opponents

The Tuggar Campaign Organisation says no member has defected or been authorised to support another APC governorship aspirant, urging issue-based campaigns and responsible political conduct.

The Tuggar Campaign Organisation has refuted claims that supporters of Foreign Affairs Minister Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar have switched allegiance to another governorship aspirant, insisting that its campaign structure remains united.

In a statement released on Saturday, the organisation described the reports as false and misleading, saying they were made during a recent press conference by supporters of another aspirant to create the impression of growing defections within the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The campaign stated that no member or group had been given the authority to negotiate or announce support for any other aspirant on behalf of Ambassador Tuggar.

Reaffirming its commitment, the organisation said it remains firmly behind Tuggar’s governorship aspiration and dismissed suggestions of internal divisions.

It also appealed to political actors and their supporters to avoid spreading unverified information that could mislead party faithful and the public.

The statement concluded by urging all aspirants to focus on issue-based campaigns while upholding honesty, integrity and respect for democratic values throughout the political process.
