President Bola Tinubu has nominated Mr Taiwo Oyedele to serve as Minister of State for Finance, taking over from Dr Doris Uzoka-Anite.

Uzoka-Anite has been redeployed to the Federal Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State — her third assignment in Tinubu’s administration.

The nomination was conveyed to the Senate on Tuesday through a letter sent to Senate President Godswill Akpabio for confirmation.

Oyedele, 50, is from Ikaram, Akoko in Ondo State and previously chaired the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, spearheading reforms that reshaped Nigeria’s tax framework.

An economist and accountant, he earned an HND in accountancy and finance from Yaba College of Technology and a BSc in applied accounting from Oxford Brookes University.

He also serves as a professor at Babcock University and as a visiting scholar at the Lagos Business School.
