Whenever I read the articles of Hajia Hadiza Mohammed especially on Opinion Nigeria I see the image of a heroine and the peoples’ advocate. I see the image of a courageous woman speaking for the weak and the vulnerable in our embattled country. I see the image of a detribalized personality speaking truth to power. And I make it a habit to read her articles because it makes feel that even though those tribal bigots pretending to be advocate of the masses in the past have gone deaf and dump now that the country is in a state of topsy-turvy, there are still genuine advocates like Hajia Hadiza in our midst. When those who once claimed to be peoples advocate kept quiet in the face of oppression and persecution, Hajia did not. When writers have pitched their tents with the oppressors for the filthy lucre Hajia Hadiza refused to follow the multitude to do evil.

AI describes Hajia as: “a prolific Nigeria public affairs commentator, essayist, and writer based in London, UK. Her articles and opinion pieces are frequently syndicated across major Nigeria dailies and online opinion portals including Opinion Nigeria, The Sun Nigeria, Daily Asset and ThisDay. Her commentary spans Nigeria politics, security challenges, social justice, and humanitarian advocacy”.

The AI identified the core pillars of her writing as published in our different media organizations as: One, Ideological politics, a rejection of “mercenary politics” in favor of structured governance based on principle. Two, Human Dignity: A firm stance on the rights to safety, demanding that the Nigerian government fulfil its basic obligation to secure the lives of its citizens. Three: Institutional Charity: elevating social services from mere personal philanthropy to a structured state-backed necessity.

The AI gave me the right summary of her writings and her personality profile. Hajia Hadiza is indeed a true patriot. Even though she is based in United Kingdom but she is still very much interested in the affairs of the people of Nigeria unlike some of our diaspora Nigeria enjoying good governance elsewhere and campaigning for the continuation of the terrorist regime in Nigeria.

Hajia Hadiza Mohammed is an amazon and an activist per excellence. She is a public affair commentator, a political enthusiast, a writer, an actress. As I stated earlier, I find it pleasurable always to read her essays especially on public policy syndicated to different media platforms. She is an inspiration to many.  Her life revolves around humanity. She thinks the whole purpose of life is service; service to others especially the vulnerable groups in the society. She coordinates the activities of some not-for-profit organizations that cater for the affairs of the girl-child, the widows, orphans and the others in the society; providing support, training and empowerment.

Hajia Hadiza is a woman of many parts. She is an actress who had featured in many Nollywood and Kannywood movies, she is also a politician, a writer and philanthropist. She is a coach, a mentor and a good counselor. Through his advocacy and philanthropy she has touched positively impacted many lives. She has left positive footprints wherever she is from Sokoto the birthplace of her ancestors to Asaba where she grew up to Lagos where she worked and to London where she resides.

Hajia Hadiza, the golden Lady as she is also known is a trailblazer and straight forward person who always stand on what is good and ethically right. She is a woman of simple and unassuming disposition known for cheerful disposition. And for her sterling attributes, roles, and accomplishments, she has many awards local and international to show for it. Among others, she has the traditional title of Jagaban from her people. The Jagaban, Hajia Hadiza Mohammed is an ambassador of peace, who has inspired many by her kind deeds, forthrightness and advocacy.

Today 10th June is the birthday of the golden lady and the heroine of our time. And as she celebrates today, I join the thousands of her admirers and followers globally to wish the golden lady a happy birthday. Yes, as she marks her birthday today, I join thousands of her numerous friends, associates, relations, and admirers in London, Asaba, Sokoto, Lagos, Abuja and across the nation to say congratulations to a patriot and a detribalized Nigeria. We are proud of her life accomplishments, life of courage, faith and hope. We are inspired by her lofty ideals and deeds, her love for humanity, values and virtues, her forthrightness and sense of responsibility and patriotism.  We say congratulations to the golden lady, the heroine of our time!
