Jordan scored their first-ever FIFA World Cup goal on Tuesday, but Austria proved too strong in a 3-1 victory.

Austria controlled most of the encounter before veteran forward Marko Arnautovic wrapped up the win with a penalty.

Although the World Cup newcomers suffered defeat, Ali Olwan gave Jordan a memorable moment by netting the nation’s first goal at football’s biggest tournament.

Jordan kept fighting until the final whistle, but Austria cruised to victory in the end.
