Trump Says Democrats Risk ‘Destroying’ Their Party With Impeachment Bid

President Donald Trump has cautioned Democrats against pursuing impeachment proceedings against him when they assume control of Congress next year, arguing that such a move could seriously damage their party.

Trump made the remarks on Wednesday following a sweeping midterm election setback for his Republican Party, which came a day earlier.

Reacting to questions about the prospect of impeachment, the US president declared: “I think it would destroy the Democrat Party if they did that,” while insisting there was “no reason” for him to face impeachment proceedings.
