Vice President Kashim Shettima has vowed that those behind the deadly attacks in Maiduguri will face decisive action from the Federal Government.

He made the remarks on Wednesday while visiting victims of the bomb blasts at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, where he expressed sympathy to the injured and bereaved families.

Reiterating the government’s commitment to ending terrorism, Shettima said increased investments in security equipment and logistics were ongoing to strengthen the fight against insurgency.

The vice president condemned the Monday explosions that left over 100 people affected and more than 20 dead, describing the perpetrators as barbaric.

“No cause justifies the killing of innocent people,” he said.

He also assured that victims would receive support from agencies including the National Emergency Management Agency, the North East Development Commission, and the Borno State Government.

Shettima was accompanied by Deputy Governor Usman Kadafur, NEMA boss Zubaida Umar, and Ahmed Ahijo, alongside other top officials.
