Global index ranks Dubai second among the world’s smartest cities
A global assessment ranked Dubai as the world’s second-leading intelligent city, citing its leadership in AI, digital transformation and smart city development.
Dubai has been recognised as the world’s second-leading intelligent city in a new international ranking that highlights excellence in artificial intelligence and smart city development.
TV BRICS, a partner of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), reported that the assessment covered 61 cities from 39 countries, measuring how effectively they deploy AI and digital technologies to improve governance, economic competitiveness and residents’ quality of life.
Dubai earned the highest global score for artificial intelligence adoption and smart city implementation, reflecting the extensive use of AI across government services, digital platforms and urban infrastructure.
The report said the emirate has successfully transformed advanced technologies into practical solutions that support businesses and improve everyday life for residents.
Cities were evaluated across five major categories: strategic planning, technology adoption, operational capability, digital infrastructure and measurable outcomes.
According to analysts, cities that integrate AI into essential public services consistently record stronger gains in efficiency, innovation and customer satisfaction.
Officials said Dubai’s ranking is the result of years of investment in digital infrastructure, data-driven governance and emerging technologies that promote sustainable urban development.
They noted that artificial intelligence now plays a central role in the emirate’s efforts to modernise public administration, improve service delivery and strengthen its standing as a global innovation centre.
The report also found that the world’s leading AI-powered cities have a broader range of real-life artificial intelligence applications and enjoy greater public trust in AI-supported digital services.
Experts said Dubai’s latest achievement reinforces its position among the world’s most technologically advanced cities, with continued AI investment expected to fuel innovation, enhance urban management and drive long-term economic development.
