Judge Unseals Purported Jeffrey Epstein Suicide Letter From 2019 Jail Stay

A sealed letter allegedly authored by Jeffrey Epstein has been made public as investigations and speculation around his death persist.

A US court on Wednesday released a purported suicide note allegedly written by Jeffrey Epstein shortly before his death in a Manhattan detention facility in 2019.

The handwritten letter, which had been sealed for years, was unsealed by Judge Kenneth Karas after a request from The New York Times.

According to Epstein’s former cellmate, the note was found inside a book after Epstein survived an earlier suicide attempt weeks before his death.

The note included several emotional and defiant statements.

“They investigated me for months — Found NOTHING!!!” the letter said.

“It is a treat to be able to choose one’s time to say goodbye,” it continued.

The final line read: “Watcha want me to do — Bust out cryin!! No fun — NOT WORTH IT!!”

Although the authenticity of the document has not been officially confirmed, its release has renewed attention on Epstein’s controversial death while in federal custody.

The wealthy financier and convicted sex offender was found dead in August 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges involving underage girls.

Authorities ruled the death a suicide, but questions have persisted due to reported security lapses at the jail and missing CCTV footage from the night of his death.

Court filings indicate the letter was allegedly written after Epstein was discovered injured in his prison cell in late July 2019 during what officials described as an earlier failed suicide attempt.

The note was reportedly concealed inside a graphic novel before it was later recovered.

The Epstein scandal continues to reverberate through American and British politics as additional legal records tied to his associates and activities continue to emerge.
