The Super Falcons of Nigeria produced a clinical attacking display to defeat Egypt 6-2, securing a place in the quarter-finals of the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).

Nigeria took the lead deep into first-half stoppage time when Asisat Oshoala converted a penalty before Gift Monday doubled the advantage ten minutes into the second half.

Egypt fought back through N. Ghazy, who scored from the penalty spot, but Nigeria responded with Uchenna Kanu’s goal in the 81st minute to restore a comfortable cushion.

The Super Falcons extended their lead moments later after Chidinma Ucheibe successfully converted another penalty to make it 4-1.

Ghazy struck again in stoppage time to reduce the deficit, but Nigeria had the final say as Rasheedat Ajibade converted a late penalty before Joy Omewa added a sixth goal to cap a dominant performance.
