The Obidient Movement Worldwide says it remains firmly aligned with former presidential candidate Peter Obi, asserting that his support base continues to expand despite ongoing challenges to his political aspirations.

Dr. Yunusa Tanko, the group’s Interim National Coordinator, disclosed this in a statement posted on his X account on Sunday. He emphasised that the movement is committed to Obi’s political journey as preparations for the 2027 elections gather pace.

Tanko pointed to increased grassroots mobilisation in different parts of the country, highlighting the rise of the “Peter Obi 4 President Movement,” spearheaded by Comrade Awal Abubakar Rafin Kuka. The group reportedly operates in 19 Northern states.

According to him, the growth of such support structures underlines enduring public enthusiasm for Obi’s political vision. He maintained that attempts to derail his ambition have only strengthened his following, adding that the movement remains anchored on its message of reform and its slogan, “A New Nigeria is POssible.”
