TCN unveils four-policy framework to strengthen transparency, accountability

ABUJA — The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has unveiled a new framework designed to address corruption and unethical practices while promoting greater transparency and accountability within the organisation.

The framework was launched on Tuesday at the company’s headquarters in Abuja and comprises four key policies on anti-bribery and corruption, anti-money laundering and fraud, conflict of interest, and whistleblowing.

Speaking on the initiative, TCN Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Sule Ahmed Abdulaziz, represented by the Executive Director, Human Resources and Corporate Services, Mrs. Abiodun Afolabi-Fadahunsi, said the framework demonstrated the company’s continued commitment to integrity, accountability and ethical conduct.

Abdulaziz noted that TCN, given its critical role in Nigeria’s electricity supply value chain, must maintain credibility not only through its achievements but also through the way it conducts its operations.

“We must therefore continue to remind ourselves of the need to always conduct our affairs with integrity, professionalism, and a strong sense of responsibility,” he stated.

He said combating corruption required the collective commitment and cooperation of management and employees, stressing the importance of building a corporate culture that firmly promotes ethical behaviour.

According to him, TCN’s Anti-Corruption and Transparency Unit (ACTU) compiled the four policies into a single booklet to make them accessible to employees.

The TCN chief executive urged members of staff to study the policies and ensure that their provisions guided their everyday decisions and conduct.
