Mohamed Salah has reportedly moved closer to joining Turkish club Trabzonspor after agreeing personal terms on a proposed two-year contract.

According to FootballTransfers, Turkish transfer journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu reported that the former Liverpool forward has reached an agreement with Trabzonspor, although the transfer is still awaiting the resolution of one outstanding contractual clause.

Salah became a free agent after his Liverpool contract expired earlier this summer, ending a successful nine-year stay at Anfield where he emerged as one of the Premier League’s most influential players.

The 34-year-old Egyptian had attracted interest from clubs in the Saudi Pro League, while MLS sides San Diego and Sporting Kansas City were also linked with a move.

However, recent reports suggest Salah’s preference is to remain in Europe.

Trabzonspor are preparing for their UEFA Europa League playoff later this month after finishing third in last season’s Turkish Super Lig, and have been active in strengthening their squad.

Despite reports of an agreement, the transfer has yet to be confirmed.

Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan recently rejected claims that the club had already secured Salah’s signature, indicating that negotiations were still ongoing.

Amid continued speculation over his next destination, Salah was spotted enjoying time at a beach club in Psarrou, Mykonos, in a video published by Mykonos Live TV on August 4.

Reports also claim that three clubs across two countries remain interested as the Egyptian star considers his next move.
