Titilayo Akindayomi-Adewale Rejects Reports on Father’s Legacy, Expresses Support for Adeboye

Mrs. Titilayo Akindayomi-Adewale, daughter of the late founder of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pa Josiah Akindayomi, has refuted reports claiming she criticised some senior pastors for allegedly not knowing her father founded the church or that she was campaigning to preserve his legacy.

Reacting in a statement posted on Facebook on Monday, she described the reports as fabricated and urged the public to disregard them, stressing that the statements being circulated were never made by her.

She emphasised that her father’s true legacy lies in the people whose lives he impacted rather than in monuments or buildings.

“For the record, Baba’s image or lack thereof on any edifice on earth is nothing compared to making Heaven and his face being recognized there,” she wrote.

Akindayomi-Adewale recalled that her father consistently discouraged the pursuit of material wealth and earthly recognition, noting that he was hesitant to own a personal residence because of his belief in a simple life centred on spiritual values.

She said it would therefore be contrary to his convictions to suggest that he desired public recognition through buildings or institutions bearing his image or name.

The RCCG founder’s daughter further alleged that the reports were designed to fuel unnecessary controversy and division within the church.

“In my opinion, this report and similar ones are not about me, my father, or even the leadership of the RCCG. Instead, they are intended to create unnecessary arguments and division. Their purpose is to divert attention from the divine work currently being carried out and sow discord among us,” she stated.

She warned those circulating the reports to desist from spreading misinformation and reiterated her support for RCCG’s leadership, offering prayers for Pastor Enoch Adeboye and his family as they continue to lead the church.
